Youtube is the world's biggest Video sharing site, but it remains unprofitable for google
Youtube doesn't pull in much money for google despite attracting over 1 billion viewers a month. Google spends so much money now paying people to post certain content and supplying them with things they need to make that content that they barely break even. This is despite Youtube earning nearly 4 billion dollars a year, all of that is used so that profit ends up being minimal. Youtube right now only accounts for about 6% of Google's yearly profit despite a 33% rise in it's own profit from last year. Things like Addblock have hurt youtube's add money profit overtime. This could mean changes to youtube's format in the future, expect less money going towards user created video's and more of a television like experience.
